CONTAINER GARDEN COMPETITION

Veolia Water East are very kindly sponsoring our Competition .

Well done to Mrs Wendy Dyson for winning this Competition.

We were pleased to invite all Garden Clubs, groups and individual gardeners to enter the Container Garden Competition.

Maximum pot size is one metre diameter ( No exceptions). Any containers over the maximum size will not be judged. They can be any shape or height.
Planting to be opulent, but water saving is to be the priority ( marks will be awarded for all water saving measurers including recyling the run-off water, evaporation measures, and plants planted) Exotic plants can be used, and the container can include plants that are not winter hardy. Any kind of hard feauture can be used as long as it doesn't exceed 1mtr in width ( height is no problem). Plants can be home grown, borrowed, bought or hired.
Pots can have self contained water features (no running water or electricity will be available) Pots can be made up on site (access will be allowed to site 5 days before the show) or bought in and made up.
Help will be given to place heavier pots. The winning pot will be judged on its water efficiency, re-use of water, overall design and desirability.
Entries must be made by 15th May 2010, and containers must be delivered/displayed at the show no later than 2pm on Friday 4th June 2010. They may be delivered on Wednesday 2nd or Thurday 3rd June.
There is a £10 entry fee which will be treated as a donation to the show charities.
